With Sagittarius rising you arrive with optimism and openness: you give off a sense of wanting to explore. Your rising sign — the sign climbing the horizon when you were born — describes how you present yourself, and in Sagittarius that presentation is expansive, candid, and good-humored.
How people see you when they meet you
You're contagiously enthusiastic. You tend to talk about plans, ideas, and places, and people associate you with freedom and lightness. You say what you think without much filter, which is appreciated... almost always. The flip side: that candor can come off as blunt, and overpromising is a known risk of this rising sign.
Your ruler: Jupiter
The ruling planet gives each sign its underlying character. Sagittarius's is Jupiter, associated with expansion, meaning, and the search for horizons. That's why this rising brings a generous presence and a natural tendency to see the big picture.
Sagittarius rising and your sun sign
With a reserved Sun — Capricorn, Scorpio, Virgo — the contrast draws attention: outwardly you seem carefree and expansive, while inside you're considerably more demanding and calculating. With a fire Sun, the mix intensifies your adventurous drive.

What does it mean to have Sagittarius rising?
It means Sagittarius was climbing the horizon when you were born, so you come across as optimistic, candid, and adventurous, regardless of your sun sign.
Why do people say I speak without a filter?
Candor is a classic trait of Sagittarius rising: you say what you think directly. There's usually no bad intent behind it, but it helps to read the moment and the tone.
